Root is an asymmetric strategy game for 2 to 4 players that takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Woodland animal factions fight for control of a large forest, and each one plays by completely different rules. The Marquise de Cat builds an industrial empire, the Eyrie birds follow a strict decree, the Woodland Alliance spreads rebellion, and the Vagabond roams alone. Players battle, build and score in their own way. Learning how the factions interact is a big part of the fun.
