Lancer is a science fiction roleplaying game about mech pilots in a far future where the utopian Union works to repair its past. Play is split between narrative scenes, where pilots act on their own, and tactical mech combat on a grid. Pilots earn licenses from manufacturers to build custom mechs from frames, weapons and systems. Combat uses a d20 plus bonuses, with extra six sided dice for accuracy or difficulty, where you keep the highest one. The setting is deep but optional, and missions mix strategy with character drama.
