Catan is a trading and building game for 3 to 4 players that takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Players are settlers on a newly found island, building roads, settlements and cities across a board of hex tiles. Each turn a dice roll decides which tiles produce resources like wood, brick, grain, wool and ore. You trade with other players to get what you need and race to reach 10 victory points first. Negotiation, a bit of luck and smart placement all matter.
